Aerogarden Review
& How To Get A Discount$20 Off all AeroGardens
When I first saw the price of the aerogarden – well, I thought it was pricey. However, with the economy the way it is – and with Spring on it’s way, I realized I needed to consider a garden this year – and I wasn’t too excited considering an outside garden.I have a number of issues preventing an outdoor garden – my past attempts have been eaten by rabbits, deer and caterpillars. And now with arthritis setting in – how can I expect to weed/ dig and plant?Well, I got to thinking of the price of an outdoor garden, and comparing to what I get with an aerogarden – very basic outdoor garden: 14 packets seeds @ $2.95 = $41.30; 72 cell plant seed starter $10; Growing pellets $9.95; Starter Solution $5.38; Labels $4.50; Hand tools – spade $20; Hand cultivator $7.98; Hand trowel $7.98; Light duty hose $9.95; Sprinkler $15; Gloves $10; Plant Food $15.98 for a grand total of $158.02. And that’s not including all of the other things I’d end up buying – bug killers, deer preventers, raised bed items…. So simple – no weeds or bugs – plug it in and add water! Lights indicate when more nutrients or water is needed – I sure don’t get that with an outside garden! I was so impressed, within days I had already bought a second one – planning lettuce for the second, and when the herbs are done in the current one, will put in vegetables. Planning to get 2 more – a 3 pod for future herbs and one for strawberries. And within 4 days – yup—there’s the little plants already enjoying their new home.
The most difficult thing about the aerogarden is taking it out of the box! I am one of those that moves a lot. I would have saved the packing if I had any thought I could repackage this item for moving but I highly doubt it can be done. This I consider a marvel as it shows us the consumer that there is great attention to detail. This sucker is really packed well-lol!Admittedly, there have been minor problems (real ones) with it. These are immediately resolved either by looking at the booklet that comes with each and every kit or, by calling customer service. The customer service representatives are incredibly knowledgable not only about the unit itself, but about growing in general. They have helped me immensely through the years I have owned this unit.I do grow things outside on my small deck during the growing season and some of those plants begin life in my aerogarden. I always use my aerogarden to supplement during the growing season so it is never 'off'. It is essential to me during the seasons that growing is impossible outdoors. I would recommend this product for anyone considering it.
